The amount $2,500 saved annually includes about $400 on medical prescriptions, while the remaining is use on hospital visits. In fact, the researchers finally arrived at these figures after considering many other factors including insurance coverage.

You can still save by exercising, even if you are diagnosed with heart problems or multiple risk factors for cardiovascular disease. For example, poor cholesterol profiles and high blood pressure. Those (with heart problems) who do regular exercise frequently spent less on health care than their counterparts who rarely get involved in physical exercises. Dr. Khurram Nasir, a professional doctor at Baptist Health South Florida Hospital also read through the study and gave a few compliments. “This study focuses much on expenses related to people with heart problems,” said Nasri. According to him, the actual cost saved annually from being physically active is substantially greater than $2,500.

The figures in this study is not exactly the same to everybody. It only gives a rough estimate. Those who earn their living after indulging in strenuous activities are free from such medical expenses. However, this doesn’t mean putting yourself in too much physical exercise,” Nasir. As Paracelsus once said, “too much of something is poison,” we should consider exercising with moderation. And Dr. Khurram Nasir says he has hopes that people who do not exercise might now consider the possibility that inactivity is costing them a lot of money.
